First Baby Of The Year Delivered At Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

At the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba, Lagos, a healthy baby girl who tipped the scales at 2.7 kg was born by 36 year-old Mrs Emilyana Nwoye through Caesarean Section.

In a chat with the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Akin Oshibogun, it was confirmed that both mother and child are okay and according to Professor Akin who was also filled with joy, the baby would be the first baby to be born in the hospital this year.

Efforts were made to reach the mother of the baby but to no avail as she couldn’t speak about the experience. She was said to be recovering from the Caesarean Section when she was visited at the neonatal unit of the hospital.

However, Mr. Evaristus Nwoye, father of the baby girl expressed gratitude for being blessed with the first baby of the new year.
